Manitex International Incorporated recently introduced their biggest collaborative display among all four of their manufacturing divisions, Manitex Liftking, Manitex, Inc., Badger Equipment Co., and Manitex Load King, based in North America, at the 2011 ConExpo.

The company display was focused on three mounted crane trucks which illustrated the capability and flexibility of their flagship platform of 50 ton trucks. The first truck was the 50155S model. This truck has a powered boom of 155 ft and is the only truck which provides a working height of 209 ft with a single jib piece and that too with a free operation permit.

The other main truck on display was the 50110SHL. This truck had a powered boom of 110 ft. this truck was also available with a heavy lift option which was available in all the boom lengths of the 50 ton truck platform. Apart from providing carrying and picking capability, this truck also provides a heavy duty lift option which has a capacity of 360 degrees which can favorably be paired with the 60 ton platform crane trucks available in the market.

The third truck which was debuted by Manitex, belongs to the 50 ton truck platform. This model named 50128S has a powered boom of 128 ft. This provides the truck an intermediate length of boom which is quite in demand in the construction market. All of the 50 ton trucks by Manitex have been configured with radio ROCSolid outrigger controls, an optional auxiliary winch as well as ACCUSwing controls.

Manitex also introduced their newest entry in the sign crane segment. The SC-130 Sign Crane truck is provided with a working height of 130 ft, a lifting capacity of 2 tons and a permanent man basket which rotates. This machine can be controlled with the help of a remote radio. It provides a desirable working height by cost ratio.

Manitex Liftking focused their display on their line up of trailer mounted, telescopic and straight mast forklifts for rough terrain for use in military as well as commercial applications. Badger Equipment Co. introduced their new model cab down RT crane, CD4430, a 30 ton crane truck. Meanwhile, Manitex Load King, introduced their custom engineered high quality trailers as well as hauling systems, like the Gooseneck Hydraulic Folding Trailer.

Dump trucks are useful in many work applications, especially in construction purposes. These trucks are useful in transporting debris and other construction waste from one place to another. Depending on the gross weight of the trucks, they classified into three different categories. A truck having a GVWR ranging between 26,001 pounds to 33,001 pounds is classified as a heavy duty truck. The towing and payload capacities depend on this classification of the truck.

The higher the GVWR of the truck, the higher are the towing and payload capacities. Ultimately, a Heavy Duty Dump Truck will have a greater payload capacity. This will help to reduce the number of trips that the dump truck operator will have to make. There are many quality HD dump trucks in the market.

The Heavy Duty Dodge Dump is one such truck. The Dodge 4500 cab truck chassis appeared some where in 2007. This truck was a heavy duty truck belonging to Class 4, and was available in different configurations for different work applications. This truck managed to carve a niche for itself in this truck segment by offering unmatched features which included a frame that was smooth topped making mounting of aftermarket beds easier, which was the main reason why it was built.

This Heavy Duty Dodge Dump was engineered so that it offered long term reliability. The current model of this dump truck is powered by a diesel Cummins 6.7 liter engine, and meets the 2007 emission regulations set for the 50 states. This Heavy Duty Dump Truck had a dump bed which easily lifts or tilts up for easier unloading.

The frame of this Heavy Duty Dodge Dump is quite light when compared to its competitor models with a 50,000 psi steel composition, claiming to have stronger frames when compared to Ford’s F-550 and F-450 frame. The Heavy Duty Dump Truck body is constructed by Crysteel.

The Heavy Duty Fwd Dump is another popular option. This truck was powered by a diesel Detroit engine, improving the fuel efficiency of this truck. This also helps reducing fuel costs. The engine of the Heavy Duty Fwd Dump was paired with an automatic transmission. It also featured tandem rear axles to better support the weight carried in the dump bed of this truck.

The Heavy Duty Fwd Dump has a dump bed of 4×4 configuration. This truck is the preferred option for some heavy duty dump operations, with a tilting dump bed to enable easier unloading.

Peterbilt Company had announced last month that they would be increasing the production of their new 382 model truck at their Denton, Texas truck manufacturing plant. This new model offers exceptional serviceability, aerodynamic efficiency as well as outstanding maneuverability for shorter delivery, haul as well as diminishing loads.

The General Manager for Peterbilt and Vice President for PACCAR, Bill Jackson, said that this truck has optimized steering capabilities and safety for heavy traffic areas, advanced aerodynamics to provide greater fuel efficiency as well as serviceability for reduced operating costs. All of this makes the new Model 382, an ideal truck for regional and short haul markets.

As they delivered the first Peterbilt 382 to the Columbia distribution in the month of December, they are quite excited about increasing the production of their 382 model, delivering customers with ideal savings and performance. The cab of this truck has been designed specifically to meet the driver’s needs, with driver safety and comfort built into the truck.

Because of the sloped hood of the cab, the visibility is greatly increased. While the forward lighting technologically advanced system produces a brighter and broader lighted area. The operating environment of the driver has also been ergonomically designed for keeping the driver productive, comfortable and alert, with door panels which are contoured, gauges that are back-lit as well as rocker switches easily accessible.

Because of the HVAC system there is improved air flow as well as reduced cost of maintenance. A new pad design on the door holds the switches for lock, mirrors and power windows, with double cup holders increasing the convenience for the driver. This truck is powered by an efficient diesel 2010 ISL9 engine from Cummins having the greatest ratio of power to weight in this class including HD features such as wet liners which are replaceable.

There is also an improved ECM or Electronic Control Module as well as better air flow which allows the engine to run shorter and that too with a great responsiveness compared to other engines. The horsepower ranges from 345 to 380 and generates a maximum torque of 1300 pounds feet.

Peterbilt has a reputation for being the industry leader when it comes to innovative engineering, design as well as fuel solutions providing a superior quality truck.

Good quality winches are very important accessories for a utility or pick up truck, especially for vocational trucks which are used in heavy duty hauling operations. Winches can be either manually or electrically powered, however vehicle winches are motor driven.

You can either opt for a truck, which already has a winch accessory supplied with it, or attach a winch yourself to the rear or front of the truck, depending on your work operations. A Heavy Duty Winch Truck is useful for raising or hauling heavy equipments and machinery for fixing them on towers or poles located high above the ground.

The 2010 model of the Peterbilt 367 is a Heavy Duty Peterbilt Winch equipped semi trailer truck. This truck is powered by a diesel Cummins ISX engine, and paired with an 18 speed transmission, delivering a whopping 525 horsepower. It is the ideal truck for heavy duty work operations. Coupled with a hydraulic 45,000 air operated joystick winch, this truck has even greater hauling capacity. Because of the winch, this truck has a higher lifting height.

The Heavy Duty Peterbilt Winch has a wheel base of 283 inches. This trailer truck has an Earth Movers frame. For lifting operations with the help of its winch, this truck features a 125 ft cable. Apart from that, the Heavy Duty Peterbilt Winch has a tail roller of full width. The ratio of this truck is 4.56.

You can also find winches from popular brands which can be fixed in trucks of leading manufacturers, like the GMC brand. You can attach a Heavy Duty GMC Winch to your GMC Yukon or any other model truck. The benefit of attaching a hydraulic winch to your truck is that immediately increase the truck’s hauling or raising capacity.

For a pick up trucks which are smaller than vocational trucks, you can still attach a winch and convert it into a Heavy Duty Winch Truck. For this, however, you will need to attach a winch that weighs fewer pounds, like around 15,000. Though these winches weigh less, they can still get the job done, and also help to greatly improve the performance of pick up trucks. A Heavy Duty GMC Winch can be mounted either on the front or rear of the truck permanently.

One of the Heavy Duty GMC Winch you can opt for are those by Mile Marker. These winches feature two different speeds, to better suit your work operation. They also have a mechanical lock and are corrosion resistant, which makes them useful even under water. A Heavy Duty Winch Truck is the preferred accessory for improving your trucks performance.

Danish lorry loader cranes manufacturer, HMF, recently extended its contract with Briton’s reclaimer of charity textile, Wilcox. They will be supplying one more hydraulic truck mounted loader crane. The HMF Company’s contract with Wilcox goes back to more than six years, when the Wilcox Co. gave them specifications for designing crane lorry loaders for them.

The latest HMF crane which was released just more than a month ago was the 1075-K2 crane. This crane has been designed so that it can lift as well as dump textile openers which are bottom opening and weigh up to 800 kg. This is made possible with the help of a bank type bottle attachment. Because of this, it is able to make around an average pick ups of at least 50 in a day, which also includes emergency pick ups of full bins.

The Wilcox Company’s fleet already includes 15 trucks which are of the Iveco brand. These trucks have cranes which have the ability to be controlled by radio and have a 10tM lifting capacity. These cranes which are mounted on alloy high sided tipping bodies are manufactured by the Leeward Truck Bodies. These cranes feature covers which retract automatically, while their tipping under floor gear is supplied by Harsh.

Martin Wilcox of Wilcox praised the engineering by HMF, saying that the quality of build is really good, and even their five year old cranes have not suffered much beyond the routine tear and wear, and Graham Cook, the HMF engineer provides quarterly service of maintenance which is excellent.

The Wilcox Co. has been is business since the year 1985, and operates a 55 commercial vehicle fleet which has been designed to be able to retrieve clothing of 750,000 kg from 2,500 different collection points. After this they are then taken to the company’s bilston facility which is located in West Midlands and they are later on processed to be exported in the African, Asian and European continents.

So far, the HMF Co. has been supplying cranes to the Wilcox Co. since six years back and because of their excellent quality build as well as great maintenance service and other exemplary features, the company had its contract for manufacturing cranes for the Wilcox Co. extended further.

Fire trucks are very important vehicles when it comes to saving life and property. These vehicles are like big tool boxes that ride on wheels and designed primarily for rescue situations like fire rescues, building collapses, vehicle extrications and traffic collisions among others.

A Heavy Duty Stake Truck is the perfect choice of for lugging and hauling high load items.

The net orders for vehicles coming under the Class 8 category have continued rising in demand. They made a lot of sales in the month of January, and despite having a falloff the orders for commercial trailers also remained quite strong, reported the ACT Research Company, (ACT). With the rising and continued demand for machinery and equipments growing stronger, is an indication that many of the trucking fleets have been ramping up their older trucks as well as upgrading their replacement vehicles, a fact which had been largely deferred over the last two years, according to the ACT officials.

The latest release by the ACT of their outlook for the commercial vehicles of North America has shown a continuing recovery of the economy. This is in support of the current order of trajectory. The ACT has also said that this factor suggests that their forecasts regarding the rising production of commercial vehicles throughout 2011 and right into the year 2012 are going right on track.

The chief economist of the ACT, Sam Kahan, said that, the initial surge of data that has been received for the month of February only reinforced the ACT’s assessment regarding the figures attained in the month of January as well as enhances their belief about a recovery that is self sustaining in no longer far away, and that it has in fact begun taking place in the United States of America. They are already expecting the real estimate of the GDP growth for the year 2011 to be around 3.5 per cent compared to a year over year basis. This will be toward the higher end of the range of forecasters.

Many Class 8 manufacturers of trucks like Freightliner Trucks and Western Star among others have been making huge profits in the industry. With the economy slowly swinging itself back into action, many small businesses have cropped up who rely upon Class 8 and other work trucks for the most part of their businesses. This has ultimately led to a rise in the demand of these vehicles.

As a result of this, the surge in the demand and sales of the Class 8 trucks like Freightliner or Volvo trucks and orders for commercial vehicles rising is a good indicator of the state of the nation’s economy.
