The net orders for vehicles coming under the Class 8 category have continued rising in demand. They made a lot of sales in the month of January, and despite having a falloff the orders for commercial trailers also remained quite strong, reported the ACT Research Company, (ACT). With the rising and continued demand for machinery and equipments growing stronger, is an indication that many of the trucking fleets have been ramping up their older trucks as well as upgrading their replacement vehicles, a fact which had been largely deferred over the last two years, according to the ACT officials.
The latest release by the ACT of their outlook for the commercial vehicles of North America has shown a continuing recovery of the economy. This is in support of the current order of trajectory. The ACT has also said that this factor suggests that their forecasts regarding the rising production of commercial vehicles throughout 2011 and right into the year 2012 are going right on track.

The chief economist of the ACT, Sam Kahan, said that, the initial surge of data that has been received for the month of February only reinforced the ACT’s assessment regarding the figures attained in the month of January as well as enhances their belief about a recovery that is self sustaining in no longer far away, and that it has in fact begun taking place in the United States of America. They are already expecting the real estimate of the GDP growth for the year 2011 to be around 3.5 per cent compared to a year over year basis. This will be toward the higher end of the range of forecasters.
Many Class 8 manufacturers of trucks like Freightliner Trucks and Western Star among others have been making huge profits in the industry. With the economy slowly swinging itself back into action, many small businesses have cropped up who rely upon Class 8 and other work trucks for the most part of their businesses. This has ultimately led to a rise in the demand of these vehicles.
As a result of this, the surge in the demand and sales of the Class 8 trucks like Freightliner or Volvo trucks and orders for commercial vehicles rising is a good indicator of the state of the nation’s economy.
